Tomas is the Head of Data for City of Helsinki and leads Data and Analytics team. In order for Helsinki to take the next step in the utilisation of advanced analytics, data and analytics team was established in the Digitalisation Unit. According to him developing data, artificial intelligence and robotics capabilities is one of the key tasks of the team. Open data has a long tradition in Helsinki and the city’s open data portal, Helsinki Region Infoshare, is over 10 years old. The Helsinki Region Infoshare (HRI) service aims to make regional information quickly and easily accessible to all. Essentially, HRI is a web service for fast and easy access to open data. The data published is mainly statistical, giving a comprehensive and diverse outlook on different urban phenomena, such as living conditions, economics and well-being, employment and transport.
