Session: Standardisation for Trustworthiness in AI: a sector perspective on how to deliver trustworthy AI

Sahar Danesh is Senior Government Engagement Manager at BSI, the UK’s National Standards Body. She leads on BSI’s engagement with the UK and Devolved Governments on digital and tech policy and helps identify opportunities where standardization can deliver benefit for UK businesses and societal stakeholders.

Sahar channels the expertise of BSI in support of public policy and legislation and is part of the UK delegation to global Standards Development Organizations, including ITU and ETSI. She is part of the delivery team of the UK’s AI Standards Hub, and works alongside government and partners to help bring together UK expertise to identify what good practice should look like in the development of AI technologies.

Sahar is a Chartered Engineer and has worked in private consultancies before working in public policy and advocacy in central government departments and across professional institutions, including The Royal Academy of Engineering and The IET.
